Mathias is listed in the 1860 US Census with his father, Peter. His mother must have passed away sometime before 1860, but when is unknown. They have also now traveled to the north and settled in Morrison, Brown Co., Wisconsin, a trip of about 100 miles. Morrison is just a small town near Green Bay.
All that is left in the family is Mathias, his father, and two of his brothers. Mathias’ future wife’s family, the THOMPSONs, have also moved to Morrison, possibly traveling together.
